Events

• House Atreides is given charge of Arrakis, and find most of their Spice mining equipment is broken. They subsequently are betrayed by Wellington Yueh.

• Thufir Hawat is forced into servitude under the Harkonnens.

• Paul Atreides and Jessica escape into the desert.

• Paul and Jessica are accepted into Fremen society by Stilgar, Naib of Sietch Tabr.

• Paul creates a new religion among the Fremen and is hailed as a messiah. He governs control of many of the fierce desert peoples.
  

Battles

• The Harkonnens make a devastating attack on Arrakis, and cripple the Atreides, to the point where only a few of them survive.

Births

• Alia Atreides is born.

• Birth of Paul and Chani's first child, Leto Atreides II.
  

Deaths

• Wellington Yueh betrays House Atreides, and is then killed by the Harkonnens he worked for.

• Leto Atreides I is killed, but takes the life of Piter De Vries in the process.

• Liet-Kynes dies in the desert after he is abandoned there by the Harkonnens.

• After Jessica takes the Water of Life, Reverend Mother Ramallo passses on her collective memerory and dies.

• Paul Atreides realises himself to be the Kwisatz Haderach, and sees parts of the future that may be.

• Jessica takes the Water of Life, becoming the new Sayyadina of the Fremen after Mother Ramallo.

• Paul Atreides falls in love with Chani.
