The sister of Paul Atreides, and the Water of Life affected daughter of Jessica and Leto Atreides I, Alia Atreides was an abomination in the eyes of the Bene Gesserit, as she had been subjected to the Water of Life whilst still in the womb. When born, Alia possessed startling abilities, and held the knowledge of her ancestors, allowing her to experience their memories. This inward eye ability became known as Other-Memory. Alia was born on Arrakis in a desert sietch, subsequent to the death of her father, Leto Atreides I, and was raised in her place of birth by her mother and the other members of the Fremen tribe. During her youth she was excluded from normal life as a child because of her powers, which made of far mor adult and mature than her age should permit. The Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, Alia's grandfather, was so startled upon seeing her that he declared "Is this a midget?" As Alia grew, her mental powers increased, not unto the extent of presience, like her brother, now Emperor, but to a great level none the less. She became known as Saint Alia of the Knife, due to her violent Fremen upringing in the deserts of Arrakis.

Early Life on Arrakis

Possession and Death

But her powers soon became to much for her after the death of her brother and the birth of his children, and she became possessed by the memory-spirit of her grandfather, Vladimir Harkonnen after he had promised to protect her from the other memory-bodies trying to take control, but he ended up possessing her himself. She then began, under the Barons control, to instigate a civil-war in the Empirium. she also tried to plot an assassination on her mother the Bene Gesserit, Jessica (which failed). After the return of Leto II, she was able to regain enough control over herself, and threw herself out of a window of the Imperial Palace on Arrakis.
