Dune
Though, in actuality, Dune was only released to the public in 1965, many events before its publication were responsible for its fabrication.
The following is timeline of chronological events, concerning the Dune Universe, that happened in our world:


Timeline

1930

Frank Herbert, creator of Dune, is born.

1946

David Lynch, future director of Dune is born.

1947

Brian Herbert, son of Frank Herbert, is born.

1962

Kevin J. Anderson is born.

1965

Frank Herbert publishes his first Dune book, simply called Dune, and begins a great new chapter in the science fiction world. The book will be made into a series in 2000.

1966

Dune wins the Hugo and Nebula Awards for best science fiction novel.

1969

Following the success of Dune, Dune Messiah is released. It was originally serialised in a magazine.

1976

Concluding the Dune Trilogy, Children of Dune is released. It will later be made into a television show, in the same way as Dune, in 2003.

1977

Children of Dune is nominated for the Hugo and Nebula Award.

1981

Continuing the great Dune series, God Emperor of Dune is written.

1984

Heretics of Dune is written.

David Lynch adapts Dune into a film.

The Dune Encyclopedia is published.

Doon is released.

1985

The final book of Frank Herbert's, Chapterhouse Dune, is released. He dies shortly afterwards.

Eye is published.

1999

Dune: House Atreides, a prequel, is written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.

2000

Dune: House Harkonnen is writtem.

Dune is adapted into a miniseries for the Sci Fi Channel.

2001

Dune: House Corrino is written.

2002

Dune: The Butlerian Jihad, first in the Legends of Dune, is written.

2003

Dune: The Machine Crusade is written.

Children of Dune is adapted into a miniseries.

2004

Dune: The Battle of Corrin is written.

2006

Hunters of Dune is written.
