Dunepedia
A Featured Image (recognisable on a page by theFeatured Imageat the page's top left corner) on Dunepedia is an image that has been selected to become part of the List of Featured Images page, and has been placed on the Dunpedia Main Page in the Featured Image slot. As with Featured Articles, the administrator calls the shots, but that does not mean that regular users cannot have a say on what they believe should be the next featured image, far from it. Anyone may nominate an image for featured status, by commenting on this page, and leaving information on where the image may be found. The image may then be evaluated by an administrator, and may be accepted as featured. Bear in mind admins that you must keep in contact with your other admins, so as not to start a conflict of decisions.

How to Spot A Possible Featured Image

  1. The most important thing to ensure the image has is good contrast. This means no blurring or unnatural colour exposure (no light source on the image that shouldn't be there). Blurred or slightly pixelated images will not even be considered for featured status.
  2. The subject of the image must be completely in focus, and undisturbed by unrelated elements.
  3. Good colour contrast, meaning no conflicting colours, is also a must.
  4. Ordinarily, the human eye can perceive what it likes and know that an image is of high quality. Eyes are therefore the most reliable way of finding a Featured Image.
