Technology Overview
The lasgun was the most commonly used weapon in the universe. Its design harked back to the ancient projectile weapons of pre-space flight times (some of which still saw use in later days), but instead of solid slugs as ammunition, the lasgun utilised powerful bursts of concentrated energy, capable of burning instantaneously through flesh and most metal alike. These energy blasts (known as lasers, hence the lasguns name) could be dangerous if deployed against a solid projectile stopping shield. As a reaction, both gun and shield generator would spontaneously explode.
